At the SRT booth during the 2024 China International Industry Fair (CIIF), the “AI Workstation” drew numerous visitors to experience it firsthand.
This is a soft robotics embodied AI platform recently developed by SRT, based on a vertical large model and multimodal agents. The platform employs a composite-function soft dexterous hand and an integrated 3D vision motion control and drive system, simulating the human eye, brain, and hand to provide intelligent services to customers. Users can not only engage in scenario-based voice interactions and ask professional questions, but also leverage the embedded agents to enable intelligent interaction between the soft robot and its environment.
It can autonomously capture and analyze images based on user voice or text input, automatically orchestrate motion control commands for the robotic arm and the composite bionic end-effector, and finally drive the robot to perform personalized meal recommendations and serving services. Additionally, the platform is equipped with a digital twin engine, showcasing the boundless potential of AI-driven soft dexterous hand digital technology to visitors through a combination of virtual and real elements.

Embodied AI is an important branch of artificial intelligence and is expected to become the ultimate carrier of AI. As one of the first innovative technology companies in China to develop soft dexterous hand technology, SRT has long been investing in the R&D of intelligent soft bionic robotic products. These products are flexible, safe, and soft, and have been widely used in industries such as food and fresh produce, 3C electronics, automotive, as well as in medical and educational fields. They effectively solve the “last centimeter” handling challenge of irregular and fragile items in automated production across various industries.
As the technical applications of soft dexterous hands become increasingly rich, in addition to continuously improving the service capability of flexible production solutions, how to enhance the more complex interaction capabilities between soft dexterous hands and their environment — particularly by integrating multimodal intelligent perception and intelligent control technologies to upgrade them into embodied AI systems with hand-eye-brain capabilities — has become a key direction for the future development of soft dexterous hands.

According to market forecasts, the global embodied AI market size is expected to grow from USD 1.8 billion in 2023 to USD 13.8 billion by 2028. Driven by China’s wave of industrial digitalization, the embodied AI technology of soft dexterous hands holds broad application prospects in the service and manufacturing industries. The embodied AI innovation of soft robotics, powered by AI as a core driving force, will also make new and important contributions to the development of China’s new quality productive forces.
